Service and Leadership Training  – SALT

SALT

Service and Leadership Training

God calls all believers to a life of service, but…what does that actually mean? Life is full of opportunities to serve and lead through the example Christ gave us in scripture. Service and Leadership Training (SALT) is designed to challenge adult participants to reinforce their faith, consider their calling, and apply themselves in fruitful ministry.

The conference includes plenary messages from God’s word, track workshops geared toward practical application, round table discussions, classic camp activities, and free-time for fellowship. Get equipped to live out a life on mission for the gospel!

Track Options

  • OT Manuscript

It’s easy to get so caught up in the “service” aspects of ministry that we forget to make time to learn. The story of Mary and Martha is a familiar episode detailing that, while both are needed, one is clearly better. Manuscript Track is a deep inductive study of the text focused on unlocking important observations, questions, and conclusions about service and leadership. The subject of this year’s study is Hezekiah, his focused reliance on the Lord, and his godly leadership over Judah in revival and in crisis. Because of its cooperative nature and heavy emphasis on Scripture, this track is recommended to first-time attendees of SALT

  • Discipleship: Following Jesus

The premise of “Discipleship” is a difficult one to wrap our heads around. In the modern church, it often includes mentorship of a younger believer, and making time to invest in their spiritual walk. However, this track–led by Bentley Varghese–focuses on the Biblical principle of discipleship: following Jesus, and inviting others to join you in that walk. Being in the world but not of the world is a challenging task, but a close relationship with Jesus makes sure we don’t lose sight of what’s MOST important.

  • Service Applied

The word “leadership” has come to mean so many different things in our society that it sometimes becomes difficult to know how it applies to you. Whether in ministry, work, church, or at home–leadership is a critical element to making things run successfully. In this year’s Service Applied track, meet with leaders from other institutions and learn from one another’s struggles, victories, and other life lessons. Led by Ken Bowman, this track is sure to renew, refresh, and re-ignite you in your leadership role!

  • Biblical Leadership

While everybody may have their take on what leadership is, we believe the only person you can always trust–on this, or any other matter–is God, Himself. Biblical Leadership is an examination of God’s word in an attempt to see what He has to say on the topic. Be prepared to dig deep into God’s word and come away with a definition of “leadership” that you can trust! Led by Art Davies, participants should expect to dig deep into God’s lessons on leadership.
